Open House Ministries will again host 6 weeks of free summer camp for the children in our neighborhood, offering a safe haven for 80 elementary children. With the help of volunteers and mission teams, the children will participate in bible study, music, art, and recreation everyday. Please pray for the children, the volunteers, the OHM staff and our mission teams that come to serve in Homestead. Contact Wanda, (305) 389-5639, if you want more information about summer camp.
Local Student Leaders Make the Difference!Open House Ministries reaches approximately 100 children and youth every week. We have a small staff and could not do what we do without our student leaders! Here are a few faces of teens that show up every week to give back to their community. They read with the elementary students, offer homework help and serve as great role models! THANK YOU student leaders! |
Open House Ministries is a faith-based collaboration of:
We strive to demonstrate God’s love in real and concrete ways in the Homestead/Florida City area.
Open House Ministries began as disaster relief following Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Homestead and Florida City were almost completely destroyed. While 19 years have passed, our community still struggles.
Open House Ministries embraces all opportunities to promote Kingdom values and goals in this community. We do this by promoting education and skill development, as well as spiritual needs through bible study and worship opportunities. Our greatest ministry emphasis has been on the children and youth programs, with approximately 100 children and youth participating in our programs every week. As a result, we are seeing leaders emerge from the youth program who will impact the Homestead/Florida City community for Christ.
